These properties will be managed under IHCL’s Taj, Vivanta, Gateway and Ginger brands to further increase hotel supply at some of the country’s major aviation hubs.
The hotels will be developed by Adani Airports and operated by IHCL’s hospitality vertical. The hotels will provide business, leisure and transit customers with a range of facilities including accommodation, dining, conferencing and events, wellness and entertainment.

Adani Airports to Develop Hotels, IHCL to Handle Operations

The agreement follows a development model in which AAHL will be responsible for developing the hotel properties and IHCL will manage their operations. This brings together Adani Airports’ land and infrastructure presence with IHCL’s portfolio of hotel brands.
For IHCL, the partnership will expand its presence at major aviation locations. The company said that these new additions will give it a total of 25 hotels across its brands in key airports in India. The mix of brands will cater to a wider variety of customers from luxury to midscale options.
For airport users, the hotels are expected to provide accommodation for passengers with connecting flights, business visitors and tourists. Meeting and event facilities, along with dining and recreational offerings, will also allow the properties to serve visitors who may not be travelling by air.

Hotels To Be Part of Adani’s Airport City Developments

The hotel agreement is part of Adani Airports’ wider plan to develop commercial destinations around its airport assets. The company has formed Adani Airport City Ltd to develop a land bank of more than 655 acres across six airports. The locations include Mumbai, Navi Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Lucknow, Jaipur and Guwahati.
In the first phase, Adani Airport City plans to invest more than Rs. 20,000 crore to develop approximately 22 million sq. ft. across these locations. The proposed developments are expected to bring together hospitality, retail, commercial and leisure facilities around airport areas.
The plan reflects a broader shift in airport development, with operators looking to use surrounding land for activities beyond aviation. Hotels can form part of these mixed-use developments, alongside offices, retail spaces and other visitor-oriented facilities.
The eight IHCL properties will add a hospitality component to this wider development programme. However, the proposed investment and development area relate to the broader Airport City plan and not exclusively to the hotel projects.

IHCL to Expand Its Presence at Indian Airports

The agreement adds to IHCL’s efforts to strengthen its presence at airports through multiple brands. Its portfolio includes properties positioned across different price points, allowing it to serve a wider range of travellers at locations with business and tourism activity.
The partnership also comes as airport operators look to develop commercial and hospitality facilities around their infrastructure. Similar projects are being planned near other major aviation hubs, including two hotels planned near the Bengaluru project by Hilton and Kalyani Group. With passenger movement, business travel and tourism supporting demand for accommodation, airport-linked developments are becoming an additional area of expansion for hotel operators.
For Adani Airports, the agreement brings an established hospitality operator into its Airport City plans. For IHCL, it provides an opportunity to expand its presence across four important aviation markets while adding more than 2,000 rooms to its planned portfolio.
