The coming year will see Ahmedabad become home to a big attraction project as Singapore proposes to build a mega indoor AI garden by the Sabarmati Riverfront. Based on the popular Singapore-based attraction known as the Gardens by the Bay, the proposed project is going to combine nature, technology, tourism, and smart city planning to create an entirely new destination.

The proposal was revealed by Simon Wong at the Vibrant Gujarat Regional Conference which took place in Surat. It is poised to be one of the biggest tourism infrastructural projects planned in Gujarat in recent times.

A Futuristic Attraction for Ahmedabad

It has been stated that this indoor garden is set to include a dome with an environment resembling a tropical forest, and with the help of modern technologies, such as climate control systems, the experience of walking through the rainforest will be recreated inside. The features will include;

  • Artificial rain simulation systems
  • Immersive fog and mist effects
  • Dense tropical greenery and exotic plantations
  • Advanced climate-controlled environments
  • Real rainforest-like indoor experience
  • Futuristic biodome ecosystem design

What distinguishes this project from others is the use of artificial intelligence in managing the ecosystem. The application of artificial intelligence technology is anticipated to ensure regulation of:

  • Indoor temperature and humidity
  • Illumination
  • Water management
  • Health of plants
  • Optimization of energy consumption
  • Movement and flow of visitors

This indoor garden can be considered not only as entertainment but also as a symbol of smart cities and sustainable city planning, making Ahmedabad one of the smart tourism centers of the world.

Inspiration from Singapore’s Green Urban Concept

Singapore has been widely known around the world for its integration of greenery in urban areas. It is reported that the Sabarmati Riverfront indoor garden project in Ahmedabad has found its inspiration in one of the most popular tourism spots in Singapore called the Gardens by the Bay.

The same idea will be incorporated in the Ahmedabad project wherein architecture, ecology, and technology blend to form beautiful environments. The concept is consistent with the global trend of building climate-controlled biodiversity parks to attract tourists throughout the year.

Urban designers see this as a way to enhance the visual image of cities while promoting environmental and sustainable tourism.

Improving Relations between Gujarat and Singapore

The statement also serves to point out the growing ties between Gujarat and Singapore economically and through infrastructure. At the forum, Simon Wong pointed out that Singapore firms are actively engaged in Gujarat’s projects.

Surbana Jurong, a Singapore-based urban consultancy firm, is associated with Phase 1 of the riverfront corridor project linking GIFT City to Ahmedabad.

As per Wong, Gujarat accounts for a considerable share of India’s exports to Singapore in industries like Petrochemicals, Pharmaceuticals, Textiles, Jewellery, Machinery, Denim manufacturing, among others.

Wong also pointed out that there are strong commercial ties between Surat and Singapore in the diamond and textiles industries.

Tourism and Urban Economic Boost

With AI-powered indoor gardens, there will be greater tourism attraction in Ahmedabad and Gujarat, attracting both domestic and foreign tourists, especially those interested in technology, environment, education, and family outings. It will lead to the following urban and economic advantages:

Tourist Earnings

Having a unique landmark in Ahmedabad's river frontage can help increase tourism and sustain hotels, restaurants, transportation, and local businesses.

Employment Generation

Construction, landscaping, AI-controlled systems, hospitality, maintenance, and tourism industries could benefit from job creation by the initiative.

Smart City Image

It would enhance Ahmedabad's reputation as a forward-looking and sustainable city that integrates technology and modern infrastructure with environment preservation.

Environment Awareness

Indoor rainforests can educate people about biodiversity and climate-based urban design.

Prosperous Gujarat Proves to Be a Hopping Ground for Foreign Investments

This news came during the Vibrant Gujarat Regional Conference, where high-ranking politicians, foreign diplomats, businessmen, and investors attended. Bhupendra Patel, together with other ministers and delegates from firms, visited several booths at the conference which featured the different industries.

The purpose of the conference was to encourage investments in the development of infrastructures, clean energy, manufacturing, micro, small, and medium industries, and urban developments.

Also, delegates from countries such as Japan and Ukraine were present during the conference to show that Gujarat has become an attractive destination for foreign investments. The delegates from Japan stressed collaboration in projects such as the High Speed Rail Project of Mumbai-Ahmedabad corridor.

The Beginning of a New Era for Sabarmati Riverfront

The Sabarmati Riverfront has gone on to evolve into one of the most successful urban redevelopment projects in India. The introduction of an AI-powered indoor garden is likely to give the area even greater visibility and status on a global scale, with the idea of a modern attraction that combines entertainment and innovation.

Another aspect of the project lies in the development of urban design principles based on models from around the world, yet tailored to Indian needs. As a result, the project is set to turn into one of the greatest tourist attractions in India, incorporating innovations in smart urban tourism.
