Godrej Properties Limited (GPL), one of India’s leading real estate developers, has announced the acquisition of an approximately 44-acre land parcel in Coimbatore through an outright purchase. The company plans to develop a premium plotted residential project with a total developable potential of around 1.1 million sq. ft. and an estimated revenue potential of about INR 450 crore*.
The proposed project will feature a thoughtfully designed residential layout that integrates quality internal infrastructure, landscaped open spaces, and modern community amenities, in line with GPL’s design-led and sustainability-focused development philosophy. The site is strategically located in South Coimbatore, one of the city’s most sought-after residential micro-markets, and enjoys close proximity to the Coimbatore Golf Club.
This acquisition marks GPL’s entry into the Coimbatore real estate market, further reinforcing its strategy of expanding into high-potential growth cities across India. The move also strengthens GPL’s presence in economically resilient urban centres while helping diversify its regional booking mix. Additionally, it supports the company’s plan to accelerate the expansion of its rapidly growing plotted development portfolio.
Coimbatore has been witnessing steady transformation into a diversified economic hub, driven by strong growth in sectors such as manufacturing, IT/ITES, education, healthcare, and a thriving SME ecosystem.
