Summary

  • Vikram Solar will supply 336 MW of advanced Hypersol G12R solar modules to L&T Construction for deployment at Gujarat’s Khavda Renewable Energy Park, one of India’s largest renewable projects.
  • The N-type Hypersol G12R modules offer up to 80% bifaciality, higher energy yield in high temperatures, and low annual degradation, helping reduce overall energy costs and improve project efficiency.
  • This collaboration supports India’s renewable energy targets and highlights the integration of domestic manufacturing with large-scale project execution, advancing the country’s clean energy and grid integration goals.

Vikram Solar, one of India’s leading solar photovoltaic (PV) module manufacturers, has secured a significant order from L&T Construction to supply 336 MW of its Hypersol G12R solar modules. The modules will be deployed at the Khavda Renewable Energy Park in Gujarat, one of the country’s largest renewable power projects.

The Hypersol G12R series is based on N-type technology, designed to deliver improved bifaciality of up to 80 percent, higher energy yield in high-temperature environments, and low annual degradation rates of ≤0.4 percent. These characteristics support higher reliability and efficiency across the life cycle of the project.

According to Vikram Solar, the technological advantages of the Hypersol modules translate into a stronger balance-of-system (BOS) performance. Lower BOS costs help in reducing the overall levelised cost of energy (LCOE), making solar energy more competitive and accessible across India’s power sector. By integrating advanced PV technology, the project strengthens the case for long-term renewable adoption in utility-scale projects.

The order further expands Vikram Solar’s contribution at Khavda, where it has previously supplied modules for large solar developments. The company has been scaling its product portfolio and manufacturing capacity in line with India’s renewable energy targets, which aim for 500 GW of non-fossil fuel capacity by 2030. Its Hypersol G12R modules are positioned to support this transition by combining higher efficiency with long operational durability.

For L&T Construction, the project aligns with its ongoing role as an engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) partner in several large-scale renewable installations. With the Khavda Renewable Energy Park expected to play a central role in India’s green energy roadmap, the collaboration highlights the integration of advanced domestic manufacturing with execution expertise.

Industry experts note that large solar parks like Khavda not only advance India’s clean energy generation but also help establish the country as a global hub for solar capacity deployment. By expanding access to efficient and cost-effective modules, the initiative supports India’s objectives of energy security, reduced carbon intensity, and wider grid integration of renewables.
