Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will launch the Lucknow Development Authority's (LDA) Varun Vihar and Naimish Nagar housing schemes on September 24, with online registration opening the same day for 3,105 residential plots across the two townships. The launch programme will be held at Dona village, within the Varun Vihar project site.

Naimish Nagar spans ~3,600 acres along IIM Road and Sitapur Road in Bakshi Ka Talab
Two townships, one launch
The event brings together two of LDA's largest active projects. Varun Vihar, spread over nearly 6,580 acres along the Agra Expressway near Mohan Road, will open 1,926 plots in its first phase. Naimish Nagar, spread across roughly 3,600 acres along IIM Road and Sitapur Road in the Bakshi Ka Talab area, will open 1,179 plots in its own first phase. Together, the two add up to the 3,105 plots going up for registration on launch day.
Naimish Nagar's first-phase allotment is split between two sectors , first is Brahma Khand, with 669 plots, and other is Bhoomi Khand, with 510 plots. Varun Vihar's broader master plan is considerably larger than this first tranche: LDA has previously indicated the township could eventually carry over 15,000 plots across 25 sectors, along with commercial, institutional, and group-housing components, a logistics park, and large green spaces. Reported indicative pricing has placed Varun Vihar plots at roughly ₹2,500–2,800 per square foot and Naimish Nagar plots at around ₹3,200 per square foot, though LDA's official notification on launch day will carry the final rates.
Both projects had originally been scheduled for an earlier launch around mid-September, coinciding with Ganesh Chaturthi, but the programme was pushed back twice due to the Chief Minister's scheduling constraints before being fixed for September 24.
Five apartment projects get their foundation stones
Alongside the plot schemes, the Chief Minister will lay foundation stones for five multi-storey apartment projects on the same day. Among the ones already delivered and cited as part of the broader event, Lake View Apartments in Viraj Khand, Gomti Nagar, comprises 646 flats — a mix of 3BHK and 3BHK-plus-study units, each around 2,300 sq ft, all of which have already been allotted through a lottery. Park View Apartments in Basant Kunj adds 364 units across 3BHK and 3BHK-plus-study/servant-room configurations, ranging from 154 to 195 square metres. Details on the remaining apartment projects are expected to be confirmed as part of the official launch-day announcement.
The launch fits into a broader pattern for LDA this year, which has moved through registration rounds for its Anant Nagar scheme on Mohan Road and continued land-pooling work for its IT City and Wellness City projects on Sultanpur Road. Speaking at an earlier LDA launch event for the Anant Nagar Housing Scheme, CM Adityanath had said that "bringing modern technology into the housing sector, ensuring affordability, and delivering projects ahead of schedule is the need of the hour", a theme officials have continued to emphasise as new schemes come up for launch. He had also stressed at that event that no broker or middleman should be involved in plot or housing allotments under LDA schemes.
Registration for LDA plot schemes is typically conducted through the authority's online portal, with applicants required to pay a registration fee along with a percentage of the plot's value at the time of applying. Allotment is then carried out through a computerised lottery system to keep the process transparent. Final pricing, plot-size categories, and the application window for Varun Vihar and Naimish Nagar are expected to be confirmed once LDA issues its formal scheme notification on September 24.
